Faculty of Tourism

The language of instruction in our faculty is Turkish.

Education of the Faculty of Tourism is 4 years (8 semesters).

There are Tourism Management, Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, Tourism Guidance in Tourism Faculty. Our active departments that accept students are Tourism Management and Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Departments.

In addition to the theoretical courses in the Tourism Management Department and the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Departments, there are courses that include practical training for the sector, and our students are given an intensive English foreign language education including professional English in the course plans. In addition to English, foreign language education in German, Russian and Arabic is also offered optionally.

There is a compulsory internship (Workplace Training) for 75 working days in the Tourism Management and Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Departments of our faculty.

Faculty of Tourism is located in Tuzla-Orhanlı campus.

In accordance with the Undergraduate Education Examination Regulations of our university, you are obliged to attend 70% of theoretical courses and 80% of applied courses such as laboratories and workshops. Absent students cannot take the final / year-end and make-up exams. The period in which the students are reported is counted in the absence period in applied courses. Follow-up of absenteeism is done by the lecturer of the course.

You can transfer to the departments of our faculty in-house and between institutions, as well as with the Central Placement Score (Annex-item 1).  Application dates for undergraduate transfers are published in the Academic Calendar of our university every year. Quotas, application dates and process information are announced on the web page of the Registrar's Office in time periods determined according to the Academic Calendar.

Departments of our faculty inform the Registrar's Office about double major and minor quotas and from which departments they will accept students. Quotas, application dates and process information are announced on the web page of the Registrar's Office in time periods determined according to the Academic Calendar.  In order to apply for a double major program, you must have passed all the courses you have to take in your major undergraduate program until the semester you apply, your GPA at the time of application must be at least 3.00, and you must be at the top 20% in the relevant class of your major undergraduate program. You can apply to our Dean's Office for a double major program with your application form and transcript at the earliest at the beginning of the third semester and at the beginning of the fifth semester at the latest.  In order to apply for the minor program, you must have passed all the courses you need to take in your major undergraduate program until the semester you apply, and your GPA at the time of application must be at least 2.50 out of 4.00. You can apply to our Dean's Office for the minor program with your application form and transcript at the beginning of the third and sixth semesters at the earliest.

There are many private dormitories close to the Orhanlı Campus where our faculty is located. In addition, our university has many private dormitories close to Kartal Cevizli Campus, including the dormitories of the Credit and Hostels Institution. In addition, the 95-person capacity (https://medeniyetkizyurdu.com/), which is owned by our university and located in Kartal Soğanlık, has been rented on the basis of service purchase, and services are provided by the relevant company within this scope. 15% discount is applied to our students in the dormitory.

Food Stipends

Each year, all students benefit from food facilities with a 80 % discount while 60 students enjoy 100 % food stipend.

International students can benefit from the allowances of Turkiye scholarships offered by Turkish government. Türkiye Scholarships is a scholarship program which not only provides financial support but also ensures university placement for students in their intended program of application. With this feature, it differs from other scholarship programs in the world.
